Actimel Lover
31st October 2011
In the latest from our new search to find our most loyal drinkers, we talk to Liz Baines from Scotland about how Actimel has become part of her daily routine.
We launched a new feature recently to help find Actimel’s biggest, most brilliant fans. We’ll be introducing you to a new Actimel Lover each month, giving you a little insight into why they love their delicious daily drink. Are you an Actimel Lover? You can find out more about how to get involved here
In the meantime, we’ve caught up with Liz Baines to get the lowdown on her soft spot for our tasty Actimel.
1. Where are you from and what do you do for a living?
I live in South West Scotland and work as an NHS Staff Nurse.
2. For you, what’s the best thing about Actimel?
I know it's great for my family.
3. How does Actimel fit into your daily routine?
Grab and go, especially for the kids.
4. At Actimel, we’re all about taking challenges head on. What challenge(s) have you conquered recently?
I climbed Mount Sinaii whilst on holiday in Egypt, it was fantastic. We climbed during the night, 1am start, because it was too hot during the day - 50 degrees! The climb was beautiful, almost like a pilgrimage, we thought there would have been only a handful of climbers, more like a few hundred, with people aged from 13-80 years! Once we reached the summit we enjoyed watching the sun coming up. We all felt like we had really achieved something, a great goal scored!
5. Do you have any healthy lifestyle tips that you’d like to share?
Everything in moderation!
6. What’s your favourite way to get out there and enjoy the UK?
I play tennis (love it!) and do a lot of walking. We have a wee book called “25 walks in Dumfries & Galloway” - still many to conquer! We have Screel Hill beside us, lovely to conquer anytime, but in particular on a frosty day (maybe Christmas day), reaching the summit and taking in the views of the Solway Firth whilst enjoying some hot chocolate, bliss.
7. What do you love most about November?
St Andrews night, especially in St Andrews!
8. There are ten tasty Actimel flavours available. Which is your favourite and why?
I try to vary the flavours, but have yet to try Coconut, probably Raspberry or Strawberry and Banana.
9. And if you could create your very own flavour, what would it be and why?
Pineapple, it always reminds me of being abroad, it has a real tropical flavour, throw it back and enjoy. I actually think coconut with pineapple would be appealing too.
